We are delighted to invite you to the preview of DanceXR 2025 on Friday 28 Match 2025, 6pm at the National Library Building.

 

DanceXR is arts-tech initiative by Avventura and supported by the National Arts Council (NAC) Singapore, to marry dance with immersive technology to create new dance experiences.  This marks the second year Avventura has partnered with the National Library Board to present immersive dance works to the public on virtual reality headsets.

 

This year’s edition showcases ethnic dance traditions with five new VR works from P7:1SMA, Sri Warisan, Sakthi Fine Arts, and the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre.

 

Members of the public will be able to experience the VR dances on 29th and 30th March 2025 at the Central Public Library, and on 6th April at the Woodlands Regional Library.

 

Throughout the entire month of April, the two VR works by the Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre - Chasing Winds: When Dandelions Fly, and Floral Symphony: An Inimitable Beauty will also be traveling to some 14 active ageing and senior care centres across the island as part of Avventura's arts outreach programme to enrich the lives of seniors with the support of the NAC’s stART Fund.
